The September 2022 written examination is open to all general dentistry candidates who either hold a valid initial assessment or submitted an initial assessment or renewal application by 31 March 2022.

Important note

We have extended the closing date of application period for the September 2022 written examination to mid-July to assist candidates who have recently received the outcome of their initial assessment and have been asked to provide additional documentation.

If you are interested in sitting the September written examination and have been asked to submit additional documentation, please do so as soon as possible and no later than 30 June 2022.

We will be processing additional documentation in order of receipt. We will not be able to process documentation received after 30 June in time to apply for the September 2022 exam.

General dentistry:

Practical examination

Application period: 5 – 19 July 2022*

Examination dates: September – November (specific examination dates to be allocated after the application period)

*Applications close at 5pm AEST

This application period is open to candidates who:

  • have a valid initial assessment,
  • have a valid written examination,
  • have not sat, or are due to sit, a practical examination between June to August 2022, and
  • are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (minimum two doses).

If you are an eligible candidate, you will receive an email when the application period opens. If you believe you are eligible but have not received an email by 7 July, please contact us. Ensure you select practical examination as your area of enquiry.

If you do not meet the eligibility criteria above, you will have another opportunity to apply for practical examinations in 2023 and beyond.

Important note

In order to apply, you must also ensure you have uploaded your passport and photo to ADC Connect for verification. You only need to complete this process once – unless the documents have expired. The status of both passport and photograph must show as valid and not expired, pending or invalid.

Verification will happen progressively during the next few weeks, and you can check their status on the identification page on ADC Connect.

To ensure documents are verified as quickly as possible, we respectfully ask you not to contact us to check when documents will be verified.
